Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded marketing leader to head our Strategic Initiative Marketing function across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

This role is responsible for leading a portfolio of high-priority, pan-regional marketing initiatives that accelerate business growth, strengthen our market position and advance strategic priorities across key audiences and markets.

The role balances strategy and execution, translating business priorities into impactful marketing programmes. Key areas of focus include retail and next-generation investor marketing, brand campaigns, strategic partnerships, One State Street initiatives, cross-regional go-to-market programmes and emerging growth opportunities.

Success in this role requires a highly collaborative leader who can influence senior stakeholders, lead multi-disciplinary teams, navigate complexity and deliver measurable commercial outcomes across a matrixed organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Initiative Leadership

Lead the development and execution of priority strategic marketing initiatives across EMEA – specific focus on building awareness of State Street Investment Management and supporting our latest strategic business initiatives (e.g. Next-Gen).

Own the strategic initiative marketing roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regional growth priorities

Drive delivery of strategic initiatives across multiple markets, ensuring consistency while allowing for local market relevance

Translate business strategy into integrated marketing programmes with clear commercial objectives and measurable outcomes

Identify emerging market opportunities, audience trends and strategic priorities that can accelerate growth

Partner closely with product, sales, digital, brand and country marketing teams to ensure initiatives are fully activated

Establish clear governance, KPIs and reporting frameworks across all major initiatives

Manage strategic initiative budgets and resource allocation to maximise impact

Oversee marketing research programmes, including audience research, market studies and brand measurement

Retail & Audience Growth

Own the development and execution of EMEA next-generation investor marketing strategy, focused on expanding relevance with emerging investor segments and future client cohorts

Lead marketing programmes targeting self-directed and digitally engaged investors, adapting approaches to evolving audience behaviours, media consumption habits and investment preferences

Oversee ETF education, financial literacy and content-led engagement initiatives designed to increase understanding, confidence and participation amongst newer investors

Develop innovative audience growth strategies across digital platforms, communities, partnerships and emerging distribution ecosystems

Drive experimentation across channels, formats and experiences, using a test-and-learn approach to identify new growth opportunities and improve marketing effectiveness

Build partnerships with platforms, publishers, creators and industry participants that help extend reach and credibility with younger investor audiences

Ensure State Street Investment Management remains at the forefront of how investment firms engage the next generation of investors, continuously identifying new trends, technologies and engagement models

Team Leadership

Build and lead a high-performing strategic initiatives function

Lead, coach and develop a team of Strategic Initiative Marketing professionals

Embed AI tools and automation into marketing workflows to improve productivity, insight generation and campaign effectiveness

Champion the responsible adoption of AI-enabled marketing capabilities across EMEA

Identify opportunities to deploy agentic AI and automation solutions to scale marketing delivery

Skills & Experience

Extensive experience in innovative marketing environments

Proven track record leading large-scale strategic marketing programmes across multiple markets

Experience managing senior stakeholders within a complex, matrixed organisation

Strong understanding of retail, intermediary and institutional marketing models

Commercially minded, with a strong focus on business outcomes and measurable impact

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional programmes from strategy through execution

Strong people leadership and team development experience

Experience managing budgets, agencies and external partners

Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills

Familiarity with AI-enabled marketing approaches and emerging marketing technologies
