Introduction

At PwC Tax k.s., we believe that well-designed finance processes are about much more than operational efficiency. They help organizations make better decisions, manage risk effectively, leverage technology, and create a foundation for sustainable growth.

We are looking for a Manager to join PwC’s Finance Managed Services practice. You will lead the design, mobilisation and ongoing delivery of finance operations and related services for clients, working across Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), Treasury, Cash Application, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Vendor Management.

This is a client-facing leadership role. You will turn complex operational and commercial issues into clear executive narratives, translate client needs into business requirement documents, and partner with technology and delivery teams to take new services, products and financial tools from concept into production. You will also build and sustain a broad internal network so work moves through PwC’s departments and network firms without getting stuck in process or politics.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Finance Managed Services engagements. Depending on the scale and complexity of each project, you may lead individual workstreams or take ownership of an entire engagement or a significant part of it.

You will work closely with client finance leadership, PwC partners, technology and delivery teams, as well as specialists from risk, legal, quality, commercial, and other PwC member firm teams.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include

Client delivery and service leadership

Own or contribute to the end-to-end delivery of Finance Managed Services engagements, including mobilisation, steady-state operations, continuous improvement and expansion of scope.

Apply deep process knowledge in one or more of AR, AP, P2P, O2C, Treasury, Cash Application, FP&A and Vendor Management, and combine those domains where the client operating model requires it.

Act as a trusted counterpart to client finance leadership: present findings, options and recommendations with confidence, and manage expectations through the full engagement lifecycle.

Service, product and tool design

Compile strong executive narratives for partners, client sponsors and steering committees — including the problem, options, recommendation, investment case and residual risk.

Produce business requirement documents (BRDs) used to launch new services, products and financial tools, with clear scope, success criteria, process flows, controls, data needs and acceptance criteria.

Work with technology teams and managed-project structures to shape roadmaps, prioritise releases and take systems and tools into production, including handover to run/operate teams.

Define and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs), control frameworks and service-level constructs that can be operated at scale.

Commercial, financial and contract craft

Support budgeting and forecasting for engagements, internal initiatives and client finance processes, including resource plans, run-rate views and variance commentary.

Navigate complex internal and client policies and processes when drafting or negotiating new contracts, statements of work, change orders and SOPs.

Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through adjacent process coverage, automation, analytics and new service offerings.

Stakeholders, network and the firm

Build and maintain a large, functional network of contacts across PwC — delivery, technology, risk, legal, quality, commercial and network firms — and use it to unblock work.

Navigate complex relationships between departments and member firms, aligning incentives, timelines and governance without compromising quality or independence requirements.

Coach and develop team members; set a high standard for client communication, documentation quality and professional scepticism.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in finance operations, finance transformation, shared services, managed services, consulting, or a comparable in-house finance leadership role.

We are looking for

Must have

At least 10 years of relevant experience in finance operations, finance transformation, shared services, managed services, consulting, or a comparable in-house finance leadership path.

Hands-on experience in one or a combination of: AR, AP, P2P, O2C, Treasury, Cash Application, FP&A, Vendor Management.

Proven ability to write and present executive-quality narratives for senior stakeholders.

Experience producing business requirement documents that have been used to launch new services, products or financial tools.

Track record of working with technology teams on projects and roadmaps, including taking systems or tools into production.

Strong stakeholder management, including budgeting and forecasting.

Demonstrated ability to face and communicate with clients; communication and interpersonal skills are central to the role, not an add-on.

Experience navigating complex policies and processes when crafting contracts and SOPs.

Fluent English, written and spoken, suitable for client presentations, proposals and contractual documentation.

Preferred

A second language: German, French, Polish or Hungarian

Experience in Finance Managed Services, Shared Services, Global Business Services (GBS), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), consulting, or professional services environments

Familiarity with ERP and finance platforms (for example SAP, Oracle, Workday) and with automation, workflow or cash-application tooling.

Experience working across multiple PwC (or equivalent network) territories, legal entities or delivery centres.

In today’s workplace, familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and Power BI is valuable. We seek someone who uses AI to enhance productivity, supports decision-making with AI insights, embraces continuous learning, and balances human judgment with data. No AI expertise required—just a willingness to embrace technology as an enabler, not a threat.

Behaviours that matter in this role

You can sit with ambiguity long enough to structure it, then write it down so others can act.

You treat relationships as part of delivery: you know who to call, how to brief them, and how to keep them aligned.

You are comfortable in front of the client and equally comfortable in the detail of a process map, a BRD or a contract clause.

You raise issues early, including policy, independence, data, control and commercial constraints, and you propose a path through them.

Education and Other Requirements

We are looking for candidates with

A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.

Willingness to travel in line with client and PwC network requirements.

Eligibility to work in the hiring location.

Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or CFA are considered an advantage but are not required.
