What You'll Do
As a Strategic Marketing Senior Manager within BCG's People & Organization Practice Area (PA), you will serve as a strategic marketing leader, shaping the PA's go-to-market strategy, strengthening BCG's external reputation, and partnering closely with Practice Area leadership to position BCG as the leading advisor on people and organization topics.
This is not a traditional marketing execution role. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving business challenges, shaping strategic narratives, influencing senior leaders, and developing innovative go-to-market approaches that create measurable business impact.
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Define and lead the annual PA marketing strategy, translating business priorities into a coherent, integrated go-to-market plan.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to PA leadership, providing market intelligence, competitive insights, and strategic recommendations that influence positioning decisions.
- Identify market opportunities and competitive white space, proactively proposing and piloting innovative marketing approaches, thought leadership formats, and client engagement strategies.
- Continuously challenge existing ways of working and introduce creative ideas that strengthen the Practice Area's differentiation and long-term growth.
- Set the strategic direction for how BCG POP engages the market through thought leadership, executive engagement, campaigns, and strategic programs, in partnership with BCG's global marketing teams.
Thought Leadership & Content Strategy
- Drive the PA's thought leadership and editorial agenda, ensuring investments align with business priorities and executive audiences.
- Partner with Topic Leaders, BCG Institute Fellows, and senior experts to develop high-impact intellectual property that strengthens BCG's reputation with C-suite executives.
- Shape and champion a compelling Practice Area narrative across publications, executive briefings, digital content, events, media partnerships, and executive communications.
- Inspire and influence Practice Area leaders, Topic Managers, and subject matter experts to actively contribute to the development of market-leading content and intellectual capital.
- Prioritize content investments by balancing breadth of coverage with deeper investment in the Practice Area's most strategic themes.
- Maintain a strong audience-centric approach, ensuring all content is relevant, differentiated, and impactful for senior executive audiences.
Market Presence & Campaigns
- Oversee the external presence of the Practice Area across digital channels, media, events, analyst relations, and executive engagement opportunities.
- Lead integrated, multi-channel marketing initiatives from strategy through execution, measurement, and optimization.
- Architect creative amplification strategies that maximize the reach and business impact of Practice Area thought leadership.
- Continuously experiment with new engagement models, content formats, and campaign approaches to increase market impact and audience engagement.
- Define and monitor performance metrics across marketing initiatives, using business outcomes, audience insights, and analytics to optimize future investment decisions.
- Manage the Practice Area marketing budget alongside the Senior Director and Finance team, ensuring strong ROI and strategic resource allocation.
Stakeholder Partnership & Cross-PA Influence
- Act as the strategic marketing partner to POP leadership, Partners, Topic Leaders, and Topic Managers, translating business priorities into impactful marketing initiatives.
- Influence senior stakeholders through strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and executive presence.
- Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering strategic thinking and capability development.
- Drive alignment and share best practices across BCG's global marketing organization, influencing cross-Practice Area initiatives.
- Represent the Practice Area externally with media, conference organizers, and strategic partners when appropriate.
You're Good At
- Setting strategic direction by connecting business priorities with innovative marketing approaches.
- Influencing senior stakeholders through executive presence, business insight, and data-driven recommendations.
- Thinking creatively and identifying new opportunities to differentiate BCG in the marketplace.
- Translating complex business challenges into clear go-to-market strategies and thought leadership priorities.
- Navigating ambiguity and independently identifying opportunities where marketing can accelerate business growth.
- Solving complex problems through structured thinking, sound judgment, and practical execution.
- Leading through influence, collaboration, and coaching rather than formal authority.
- Connecting marketing strategy, business strategy, and client engagement into integrated programs that drive measurable impact.
- Leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve strategic planning, content development, and marketing effectiveness.
- Communicating with clarity and impact across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Managing competing priorities while maintaining strategic focus and execution excellence.
What You'll Bring

- Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders within complex, matrixed organizations.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments.
- Experience coaching and developing colleagues while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
