ABOUT THIS ROLE The Audible Content team works with world-class creative talent to create ground-breaking entertainment in the UK and across our global service at large. The Manager, Original Content will support in developing Audible’s slate of Original non-fiction content in the UK with a particular focus on always on and limited series in RSS.
The Manager, Original Content will represent Audible for Original content in the UK, working with agents, authors, creators, talent, production partners and IP owners to both develop and originate content opportunities alongside reviewing submissions against creative and strategic goals. The role works in partnership with UK Content Programming, Acquisitions, Production and Marketing teams, as well as Audible’s Legal and Finance teams to ensure end to end delivery of content. This role is based in Audible’s London office and reports to the Senior Director of Original Content for Non-Fiction.
As the Manager, Original Content you will...
- Work with high performing producers, providing editorial guidance and functional management
- Participate in the solicitation, discovery and development of content/talent opportunities from external producers, agents, creators and talent
- Develop and recommend a commissioning assessment for content opportunities, ensuring that commissioned works demonstrate a distinct quality of storytelling aligned with business goals
- Collaborate on contract terms and budget development for commissioned works with cross-functional Content stakeholders
- Manage commissioning roadmaps, setting expectations with all relevant stakeholders
- Feed into the Originals strategy, leveraging data, audience and trend research, to better inform original content commissioning and decision-making
- Participate in slate planning with the Content Programming team, to ensure commissioned Audible Original titles work in sync with marketplace content slates against marketplace level goals
- Work as an Executive Producer/editor across Audible Original titles, supporting all creative aspects involved in the creation of a title including reviewing submissions, providing script editing suggestions, recommendations on talent selection, conducting post production audio reviews and other development support as required for both in-house and 3rd party projects
