Would you like to help shape the future of public sector technology through the AWS partner ecosystem? Are you excited about driving cloud adoption in Central & Local Government, Defence, Healthcare, NPO and Education by building and scaling strategic partnerships? AWS is seeking a Partner Manager to join the WWPS UK Public Sector Partner team. This is a broad-scope role where you will own relationships with a portfolio of AWS partners across our consulting partners, technology partners, managed service providers, and born-in-the-cloud specialists who serve UK public sector customers. You will develop go-to-market and vertical strategies, drive joint pipeline, and ensure partners are enabled and positioned to win with AWS in the public sector. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a blend of sales acumen, partner development experience, and understanding of the UK public sector landscape. You should be comfortable managing multiple relationships simultaneously, working cross-functionally with AWS field teams, and operating in a fast-paced environment where you take ownership of outcomes. A technical curiosity and ability to understand cloud solutions at a level that enables productive conversations with partners and customers is essential.
Key job responsibilities • Own and develop a portfolio of partner relationships across the UK Public Sector, driving revenue, joint business plans, enablement, and go-to-market execution. • Work collaboratively with AWS Account Executives, Solution Architects, Industry Leaders, and Partner Marketing to identify and progress co-sell opportunities. • Create and execute Joint Partner Sales Plans aligned to AWS UK Public Sector strategic priorities. • Maintain an accurate and robust pipeline and forecast of partner-influenced and partner-originated business opportunities. • Understand and navigate UK public sector procurement frameworks and contracting vehicles (G-Cloud, DOS, Crown Commercial Service, Defence frameworks). • Drive partner enablement and programme adoption — ensuring partners leverage AWS Competencies, Service Delivery designations, AWS Marketplace, and co-sell programmes. • Identify and recruit new partners into the AWS ecosystem where gaps exist in public sector coverage or capability. • Develop regular interlock cadences between partner teams and AWS public sector field sales to drive awareness of partner capabilities and joint wins. • Prepare and deliver business reviews to senior management on portfolio performance, pipeline health, and partner development progress. • Champion the voice of partners internally, providing feedback to AWS Partner programmes, product teams, and leadership on partner needs and market dynamics.
A day in the life A typical day could include a pipeline review with a consulting partner's public sector practice lead, a co-sell alignment session with an AWS Government account team, working with Partner Marketing on an upcoming public sector event, and reviewing a partner's AWS Competency application to help them differentiate in the market.
About the team You will join the WWPS UK Public Sector Partner team, a collaborative group focused on accelerating AWS adoption across Government, Healthcare, Education, and Defence through strategic partnerships. The team operates at the intersection of partner sales, industry expertise, and public sector mission delivery — working like a start-up within a large organisation.
