As a Splunk Monitoring & Observability Engineer within GTS Enterprise System Management, you will play a key role in shaping, securing, and evolving observability capabilities supporting Euroclear’s critical services.

This role requires deep, hands-on expertise with Splunk Enterprise. You will act as a technical authority, driving design, standards, and complex implementations across monitoring, automation, and observability. Beyond delivery, you will influence standards, lead strategic improvements, and provide technical leadership across complex, cross-team initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Ensuring the operational reliability, resilience, stability, and continuous improvement of monitoring and observability platforms in a hybrid and complex environment, with accountability for sustainable service outcomes.
  • Acting as a senior technical leader for support activities (incidents, alerts, changes, problem management), while driving the sustainable resolution of recurring issues and steering corrective actions on high-impact topics.
  • Collaborating closely with IT experts, engineering teams, and stakeholders to capture, challenge, and prioritize monitoring requirements, while aligning delivery choices with company objectives, risk constraints, and strategic priorities.
  • Designing and leading the implementation of monitoring, alerting, dashboarding, log ingestion, and automation solutions, aligned with business, operational, architecture, and control requirements.
  • Leading architecture and design discussions across infrastructure and application domains, influencing target solutions and ensuring implementations are sustainable, secure, scalable, and fit for purpose.
  • Driving the standardization, industrialization, governance, and strategic evolution of Enterprise System Management solutions (monitoring, observability, Flexera), including the definition of best practices and technical guardrails.
  • Developing and maintaining automation solutions to reduce manual effort, improve service quality, controls and enhance scalability.
  • Ensuring compliance with operational standards, security requirements, and controls in a highly regulated environment.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to team members by coaching on solution design, troubleshooting approaches, operational excellence, shaping standards and supporting capability growth across the squad and beyond.
  • Taking ownership of complex cross-team initiatives and influencing the technical roadmap for observability and automation capabilities in line with enterprise priorities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Participating in the Watch-Duty rotation, as well as supporting out-of-hours activities such as weekend releases and critical interventions when required.

Your profile

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent through experience.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in senior engineering roles with ownership of complex technical topics.
  • **Hands-on expertise in Splunk (**administration, configuration, data onboarding, search, dashboards, alerting).
  • Skills in automation/scripting with one of the following languages
  • Ansible
  • Powershell
  • Python
  • Linux / Windows / Network technology
  • Experience with the following products or technologies are a plus:
  • Dynatrace / Cribl / Tivoli Monitoring / Netcool Omnibus / Flexera
  • OpenTelemetry
  • Azure / Openshift
  • AIOps / Anomaly detection / AI-assisted observability
  • Other experiences in observability and monitoring solutions.
  • Be comfortable leading technical discussions, influencing key design decisions, challenging proposals when needed, and engaging constructively with stakeholders across multiple technology domains.
  • Show strong analytical skills, a structured and proactive mindset, and the ability to work autonomously on complex and ambiguous topics while balancing technical excellence, operational stability, control requirements, and customer needs.
  • Be open to change, able to lead transformation in tools, processes and ways of working, and willing to share expertise, coach others, and contribute to the growth of the team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to define standards, promote engineering best practices, and influence technical direction beyond the immediate scope of assigned tasks.
  • Have working experience in an Agile context and be capable of operating effectively under pressure, handling complex situations and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Be fluent in English.
