We are looking for an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Administrator (Infrastructure Administrator) to join Sopra Steria Polska to cooperate with a team for our French client.

Note that we can only offer cooperation to people are located in Silesian area and are willing to commute to our office in Katowice.

Responsibilities:​

  • Administer and maintain Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, and security-related activities.
  • Manage backup and restore processes and support infrastructure migration projects.
  • Automate operational and administrative tasks using Ansible.
  • Monitor infrastructure and ensure the stability and availability of production environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents as part of 2nd Line Support, in line with SLA requirements.
  • Manage user accounts, access permissions, and secure access to IT services.
  • Implement, test, and support new infrastructure solutions and system enhancements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure services and projects.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement within the IT environment.
  • Contribute to effort estimations, technical assessments, and infrastructure-related project activities.

Must have requirements:​

  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration and support
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible
  • Proven experience in patch management and system maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with backup and restore procedures
  • Experience in planning and executing system and database migrations
  • Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and incident management
  • Experience providing 2nd Line Support in enterprise environments
  • Understanding of security best practices, user access management, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Experience working within SLA-driven environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and technical teams
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation
  • English on min. B2 level

Nice to have requirements:

  • French on B2 level
  • Experience with middleware administration
  • Familiarity with SAN, storage, and infrastructure optimization
  • Experience implementing and supporting monitoring and security tools
  • Understanding of cloud technologies and hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring junior team members
  • Knowledge of scripting and additional automation tools
  • Experience with infrastructure upgrades, capacity planning, and performance tuning
  • Relevant Microsoft or infrastructure-related certifications (e.g., Microsoft, ITIL, Ansible)
