A TIA Oracle Developer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing database solutions within the TIA (The Insurance Application) platform. The focus is on designing efficient Oracle database structures, developing PL/SQL functionality and supporting business processes within the insurance environment.
The developer works closely with Product Owners, business analysts and other IT teams to translate functional requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions within TIA.
Core responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining Oracle database components within TIA
- Writing and optimizing PL/SQL code (packages, procedures, triggers)
- Analyzing and solving performance issues within databases
- Support with data migrations (e.g. legacy → TIA)
- Designing data models to match insurance products (policy, non-life, premium)
- Performing impact analyses in the event of changes in data or processes
- Collaborate with DevOps teams in CI/CD pipelines
- Supporting test processes (unit, SIT, UAT)
- Monitoring data quality and integrityRequired skillsTechnical
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Database
- Extensive experience with PL/SQL
- Knowledge of SQL tuning & performance optimization
- Experience with data integrations (e.g. via APIs, ETL processes)
- Familiarity with version control (Git, Azure DevOps)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines is a plus
- Is open to AI applications and applying it to the work
TIA-specific
- Knowledge of the TIA platform (Sapiens)
- Understanding TIA data structures and configurations
- Experience with policies, claims and billing processes within TIA
Domain knowledge (advantage)
- Insurance products (e.g. non-life, life)
- Basic knowledge of:
- Premium calculations
- Claims handling
- Policy administration
- Understanding of compliance requirements (e.g. Wft, GDPR)

Typical work in practice
- Implementing a new product configuration in TIA with associated database modifications

- Supporting a data migration to TIA Retail
- Solving production issues around data consistency
- Setting up queries for reports or audits (e.g. FEC checks)
