Senior Cyber & Tech PI Underwriter

The opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Cyber/Tech PI Underwriter or Broker to play a key role in shaping the future of our Cyber portfolio. You’ll join our Global Speciality business as a senior member of the Cyber team, with significant authority on complex risks and a clear mandate to drive profitable, sustainable growth. Tech PI Underwriting forms part of the Cyber Vertical at Global Specialty.

You’ll combine deep technical Cyber / Tech PI underwriting expertise with strong business and financial acumen, a winning trading mindset and a clear focus on customer and broker relationships.

What will you be doing?

• Leading and executing the Cyber underwriting plan, ensuring strong technical risk selection, pricing discipline and portfolio optimisation.
• Underwriting complex and high-value Cyber / Tech PI risks in line with our appetite, guidelines and pricing frameworks, with a clear commitment to risk quality, governance and best-in-class pipeline management / business development.
• Using data, portfolio insights and market intelligence to inform underwriting decisions, identify trends and support innovation in products, propositions and underwriting approach.
• Building, developing and maintaining strong relationships with key brokers and customers, acting as a visible and trusted point of contact for Cyber & Tech PI.
• Collaborating closely with the Head of Cyber and wider leadership to shape and deliver underwriting strategy, bringing commercial insight and experience across different market cycles.
• Providing technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to less experienced colleagues, helping to build capability and foster a high-performance, learning culture.
• Working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders (including claims, actuarial, portfolio management, operations and senior leaders), managing priorities and “managing up” with credibility and confidence.
• Supporting a culture of continuous improvement, including process enhancement, knowledge sharing and the use of new tools, data and ways of working.

What are we looking for?Technical Expertise

• Proven experience as a Cyber and/or Tech PI Underwriter or Broker, with strong market contacts and a track record of delivering profitable growth.
• Deep understanding of Cyber & Tech PI exposures, controls, coverages and emerging trends.
• Strong technical underwriting skills and commitment to risk quality and governance.

Breadth of Business Experience

• Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret financial information, understand P&L drivers and make decisions that support sustainable portfolio performance.
• Experience operating across different market and business cycles, with the ability to adapt trading strategies accordingly.
• Demonstrated ability to drive results, take ownership of targets and contribute to planning and portfolio steering.

Leadership Capabilities

• A winning / trading mindset, with the confidence to take well-judged underwriting positions and negotiate effectively.
• Experience of providing technical leadership, coaching or mentoring to others.
• Ability to translate strategy into execution, prioritising effectively and delivering through collaboration.

• Clear market orientation: customer focus, relationship-building and openness to innovation.
• Confident, data-driven communicator who can influence multiple stakeholders and inspire credibility.

Key Information

• Language Requirements: Fluency in both Italian and English (written and spoken) is essential for this role, as you will interact with local brokers/clients as well as international stakeholders.
• Location: Milan, Italy (with hybrid working options).
• Compensation & Benefits:
• Base Salary Range: from 55.000 EUR per Year
