As a Licensing & Regulatory Affairs Specialist, you'll support the development and execution of the Amazon Leo licensing strategy across the region—from securing satellite earth station authorizations to electronic communications service compliance, and to shaping satellite communications regulations at national, regional (e.g., CEPT, ATU), and global (e.g., ITU) levels. You'll work closely with regulatory experts to convert complex compliance challenges into competitive advantages both in the near term and looking well into the future.
This position may require access to export-controlled information (ECI) subject to EAR and ITAR. Final employment decision is contingent upon satisfactory completion of export control screenings and obtaining any necessary export licenses or approvals, based on nationality, citizenship, and other factors considered by applicable export control regulations.
Key job responsibilities Support Licensing Strategy Development and Execution: Support design and execution of licensing plans across EMEA countries, securing authorizations for satellite systems, gateway stations, user equipment, spectrum use, and service provision.
Contribute to Shaping the Regulatory Environment: Support engagements with regulators, trade associations, and industry stakeholders to advocate for favourable policies related to NGSO systems, spectrum access, and space sustainability and safety.
Enable Service Delivery: Identify regulatory risks before they become blockers, maintain compliance across jurisdictions, and work cross-functionally with business, legal, policy, and engineering teams to deliver Amazon Leo services at scale.
Support Regional Engagement: Support Amazon Leo representatives in engagements with national and regional telecommunications organizations, building relationships with policy makers in coordination with the broader International Regulatory and Public Policy teams.
A day in the life You will be working directly with our Licensing Leads and associated internal customers and stakeholders throughout EMEA to ensure timely licensing solution delivery in line with agreed campaign schedules. Your role will span a large range of activities across much of the world, with tons of opportunity to learn and be curious while delivering results for Amazon Leo across our satellite broadband and direct-to-device services and supporting infrastructure.
About the team Our team is field focused, with the aim to build and maintain relationships with national/regional policy makers and national regulatory authorities, in order to engineering regulatory solutions that enable people to gain access to the Amazon Leo services everywhere in the world. We work closely with stakeholder teams within Amazon to ensure legal, corporate, and communications services compliance while directly supporting business development and infrastructure development teams. We look at challenges from the perspective of a general manager and build cross-functional consensus and collaborative execution teams.
