We are seeking a Cloud Performance Engineer to work with technology teams across the firm to build high-performance cloud solutions for trading workloads. You will join the Cloud Performance Team, working alongside cloud engineers, software developers, Linux- and network engineers to optimize performance end to end.
The ideal candidate draws on experience in cloud technology, systems engineering, networking and automation.
What you will do in this role
• Design and implement cloud and hybrid cloud architectures for latency-sensitive trading workloads. • Build and maintain systems that continuously monitor the latency characteristics of distributed hybrid workloads. • Work on orchestration tooling for provisioning cloud resources as well as networking configurations and server-side processes • Build backend systems for collecting performance metrics and tooling to query it
Required Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS), with deep knowledge of networking and compute services (EC2, VPC, Direct Connect). Good overview of the AWS service landscape and core concepts such as IAM • Experience in using IaC tools such as Terraform to manage both cloud infrastructure and a broad set of compute and networking resources (docker, K8s, Cisco devices) • Experience in network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP) and major routing protocols • Solid understanding of Linux systems and the Linux network stack • Strong background in automation via Bash scripting and Python programming, ideally in conjunction with orchestration through serverless cloud services. • Demonstratable experience working with modern AI coding agents, balancing rapid prototyping with critical review to ensure simplicity and quality of deliverables • Able to implement systems with a security-first mindset, adhering to firm-wide security policies, and best practice implementations. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently drive work to completion • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience building data pipelines for centralizing structured data • Experience working with Cisco routing and switching hardware • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform • Experience programming in a compiled languages (preferably Go or C++) • Experience with Linux kernel bypass techniques such as DPDK.
