We are looking for highly motivated graduates or early career professionals with an interest in quantitative finance and a background in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or other STEM disciplines to join our team as Desk Quant Analysts.
You will work in close collaboration with Quantitative Researchers, Traders and investment teams to support a broad range of research, trading and production activities across the firm.
- Maintain and improve trading tools, analytics, production processes and strategy configurations used by investment teams.
- Clean, analyze and manage large datasets used in both research and production environments.
- Perform live and historical monitoring of trading activities, investigate production issues, and conduct post-trade analysis and reconciliation.
Performance and career development are reviewed annually. Successful Desk Quant Analysts have opportunities to progress into Quantitative Research, Quantitative Development and other technical roles, subject to performance, skills development and business needs.
Typical Day of Desk Quant Analyst
- Before market open, check that all required data and related processes are ready for the trading day.
- During market hours, monitor trading activity and production systems, and investigate any issues that arise.
- Work on longer-term projects aimed at improving trading infrastructure, analytics, operational efficiency, data quality and business processes.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related quantitative discipline.
- Programming proficiency with at least one major programming or scripting language (e.g. C++, Java, Python).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with colleagues across multiple regions.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Linux and Bash.
- Knowledge of Q/KDB+.
- Knowledge of financial markets.
- Advanced quantitative skills.
